How Does Led Zeppelin Figure into Bluegrass?
Actually, John Paul Jones playing mandolin so well on all those Led Zeppelin albums was an important influence on some of the most famous Bluegrass musicians we have. Like Chris Thile, Ronnie McCoury and Alison Krauss to name a few. And these days? He's STILL playing a big part in Bluegrass music by producing Bluegrass and acoustic albums and playing at festivals and learning all he can about The Carter Family and the history of Bluegrass and Traditional American Music. I'll bet you've been hearing the word "Podcast"
thrown around a lot these past few months. Its got that "It
sounds like a lot of technical trouble to me" feeling to it. I
completley understand, and I have a podcast! I learned how to and all about it from this fella over at Podcast411.com.
His name is Rob and he's a good boy.
Lots of podcasts are of music and
some are of people just talking and some have bad language and some
have tech information and it seems that podcasting, like blogging, has
a little something for everyone. In my podcast I do just one
thing. I talk to Bluegrass stars for 5 minutes. Sometimes I'll talk to
Rock stars like John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and Country
stars like Dierks Bentley. Or even NASCAR drivers like Junior
Johnson, the guy who came up with the idea for NASCAR.
To show
you how very, very easy it is to listen to a podcast, just click here and listen to my interview with Alison Krauss. What a Sweetheart.
