About 2 times a year I email surprise stuff out to everybody. About 15/20 times a year I'll pick some names at random and send them a bunch of CD's or some tickets to a show or a gift certificate or something unexpected and fun or funny. I hate it when people send me stuff when I didn't say it was OK to. So that's why I want to ask for your permission to send you something once, maybe twice a year. I promise I won't let anybody else have your address and I won't ever SPAM you. If you want me to put you in my email contacts then just click the picture and add it. If you don't want me to I promise you I understand.
: ) You be good.
Your pal,
Wichita

As Mayor of Bluegrass it is my goal to keep each citizen as happy as possible by providing them with the most Bluegrass music a human can possibly listen to each and every minute of every hour of every day.
Therefore, as an appendage to the More Bluegrass Law I will also take into consideration the want of more banjos, mandolins or fiddles in one's Bluegrass music diet. If the More Bluegrass Law passes, more of the instrument most voted for on the ballot below will be mandatory for any and all Bluegrass recordings played in our Wonderful City.
I will do everything in my power to make this, the More Bluegrass Law, pass for our great City. Please read the new law and vote below.
PART 1 Section A: Music played in public, public buildings, public transportation,
Pickin' parties, dentist and doctor's offices, hair dresser and barber
shops, grocery stores, ice cream trucks and restaurants must contain all of, and in some cases more than 1 of, the following 6 instruments: Banjo - Acoustic Guitar - Mandolin - Fiddle - Dobro - Stand Up Bass.
PART 2 Section B: Vocals must be sung 70% or more through the nose and the vocalist's hair must be done "The Bluegrass Way" (See Bobby Osborne, Ricky Skaggs, Bill Monroe, Mac Wiseman and Buck White). If the hair does NOT fit this description, vocalist must wear a Bluegrass/Cowboy hat (See Ronnie Reno, Jimmy Martin, Lester Flatt, Bobby Osborne again or Marty Stuart from the early days). In each of these cases the hair was done "The Bluegrass Way" creating the potent combination of Bluegrass hair and a Bluegrass hat. #%$! fire boys that's mighty strong.
PART 3 Section C: Women of Bluegrass can wear and do their hair ever what way they want to because we love them and think they're pretty and look Bluegrassy no matter what they wear or how they sing and must be shown the utmost respect and addressed as "Ma'am" as in "Yes, Ma'am" and "No, Ma'am" etc. And they don't have to sing through their nose neither. (Like many of our male citizens The Mayor of Bluegrass is married and cannot cook. Not even a little bit).
Please vote below and let's make this happen for a better brighter tomorrow for all of us!
Thank you and God Bless The City of Bluegrass!
Your Mayor and your Pal,
Wichita Rutherford

Got a suggestion for "Make it Sound Like" or maybe a question for "Ask Wichita Anything"? Then you call me and tell me what it is. I might even answer the phone if I'm not in the middle of something and I'll probably call you back if you leave me your number. But remember, I may put your message on the show or I might even put me and you talking on the show. So call me!

Wichita's hit SIRIUS/XM show "The Grand Old Time Machine" has gotten too big to air only on Fridays and Saturdays so its been added to Tuesday afternoons at 3 Eastern starting next Tuesday. "The regular show times won't change." says Wichita "There's just been so much hoo-hah since I moved to Friday evening instead of Friday afternoon from the hardcore GOTM listeners who like a little humor at work during the day that the show was added to Tuesday afternoon." If you're an rabid Wichita fan who listens on Fridays at 9pm Eastern or Saturday nights at 12 Eastern, don't panic nothing has changed. (Next Tuesday, the 14th, the show will be on at 3pm Eastern.)

I'm giving away 50 of these flash drives full of music, videos, photos and all kinds of stuff! How do you win one? There are going to be 3 ways to win.
The1st way is this: Be 1 of the first 15 to email me the correct names of the 6 genius's and 1 astronaut in this picture.
The 2nd way is this: Several times over the next 21 days I'm gonna post a picture and all you have to do is tell me who it is. The caption will say "Who is this?" and if you're one of the first 3 that that get it correct, you'll win. The catch? It will only be up for 10 minutes 1 to 3 times a day... AND if it has been PhotShopped and you can tell me who's body the head is stuck on, you'll also win a Ricky Skaggs CD, a Charlie Daniels Gospel Bluegrass CD, a Cherryholmes CD and the new Bobby Osborne CD as well. But you have to be the 1st one to win all that. That's gonna happen 5 times over the next 21 days. So I'll be giving away 20 WichiDrives all together in this 2nd way to win.
(If you put my RSS feed in your reader it will let you know automatically when anything is posted. Just a little hint there.)
The 3rd way is gonna be a surprise. I'll be telling you about that one on The Grand Old Time Machine on July 14th. That's the day my show is added to the Tuesday line up on SIRIUS/XM at 3pm Eastern - 2pm Central. The Friday and Saturday show times don't change they're just adding me to Tuesday.
What's on a WichiDrive?
A WichiDrive Contains:
- 27 of Wichita's most popular interviews with Bluegrass, Country and Rock Stars
- 11 songs from The GrooveGrass Boyz
-The entire Van Heffer album & 14 photos of the band
- Theme music from Wichita's SIRIUS/XM shows, podcasts and videos
plus the music that plays during the interviews
- 42 other mp3's of "The Bluegrass Way", "Ask Wichita Anything", "Wichita's Movie Reviews"
and the ever popular "Is it True? Or just a Rumor?" Featuring Dan Tyminski, Sam Bush, Chris Thile and Bobby
Osborne to name a few.
- 5 "Wichi-tone" Ring Tones
- Wichita's Best Selling E-Book; "The Bluegrass Way"
- 9 Videos with special guests Mountain Heart, The Infamous Stringdusters, Wichita's Trip to Fiji
and the infamous "Wichita's Eastern Winds" plus many more!
- Wichita's voice for the TomTom GPS system, with all the accent and semi-literate sentence structure you've come to know and love.
- The voice of Wichita's effeminate cousin, Stephan, for your TomTom. (You can't get that anywhere else!)
- Plus, a load of Wichita photos you've never seen before and much, much more!
Basically its a bunch of music and fun and Bluegrass stuff.
